The ms Veendam is the newest of Holland America's Statendam line, christened in 1996. Its most notable feature? Space!! The ship is grandly proportioned, and was designed specifically to serve fewer passengers than other ships in her class!
From the wide teak decks ... to the two-tiered Rotterdam Dining Room ... to the suites with private verandahs, the ms Veendam offers her guests an extra measure of space and comfort. On boarding, you'll be greeted in the ship's three-story atrium, featuring a magnificent suspended sculpture ... intended to serve as your beacon as it guides you to the excitement of the Promenade decks. Here, you'll find a virtual playground of boutiques, lounges and theaters.

Your accommodations while onboard will include floor-to-ceiling windows, leading to a private verandah that will be spacious enough for lounging, or to enjoy night room service. In addition to your queen-size bed, the room features such amenities as a whirlpool bath, sitting area, VCR, mini-bar and refrigerator.
The Rotterdam Dining Room is steeped in tradition, from the gently struck chimes calling you to your sumptuous meal to the beautiful dual staircases swooping down from the upper dining area. Strolling duos will entertain you tableside as you feast on a blend of modern Continental cuisine and regional specialties. In addition to the main dining area, the ship also provides an indoor/outdoor buffet restaurant for casual dining ... it even includes an outside grill for sandwiches, right next to the "make-your-own tacos" station! The ms Veendam offers a chance of relaxation or a wide variety of activity.
